Voyage To The Garden Island

September 28 , 2006

PAGE 1 2

Kipu Falls. Lovely, pristine, and oh what a drop!

Jeremy takes the plunge! Sorry Jer, didn't get you in midair.

I deliberate with my inner self. Is this worth it?

I continue to deliberate.

I'm off! Man, what a rush!

Definitely worth it. Oh, and for the record, Danielle jumped too, just no picture to prove it.

And on to our kayak tour, with our way cool ENFP tour leader Nathaniel.

And what tour would be complete without your Japanese brethren?

I can't remember the name of this falls, but what a site. So ethereal.

Mom and I enjoy the cool water.

In the falls. The water fell from so high, the droplets felt like needles if you stood directly below it.

Momma and two boys. Jer's camera isn't as good, so some of these are overexposed.

A motley group, with Kalea leading the way.

Mom and I shared a kayak.

This is where a scene from Jurassic Park was filmed. Dr. Grant and the two kids are walking in a field, when suddenly a herd of galyimus (medium-sized dinosaurs) run around them. A T-Rex then leaps from out of those trees and attacks the herd.

One more look.

Here's a shot from that scene (sorry not expandable).

Back home, mother and daughter explore the pool cave (Kalea was terrified of it).

Uncle Jordan enjoys a hydrothermic back massage.

Kalea just loved the pool, though. Couldn't get enough of it.

And one final self-shot before leaving the pool. By the end, I was looking like a true local. Now, sadly, I must slowly evolve back into a Missouri hick. Oh well. :-)

At the Los Angeles Airport on our way home. Kalea contently munches on seaweed. Yes, seaweed, or also known as nori. She loves the stuff.

We now must say goodbye to the Garden Island, with the hopes that we shall again return some day. So now, I leave you with the green fields, towering moutains, and blue and white skies of this island paradise. Thanks for coming along!
